Microsoft office 2010

During this week I have learned that Office 2010 is more "role-based" than previous versions. There are features tailored to employees in "roles such as research and development professionals, sales people, and human resources." In its Internet implementation, Office 2010 incorporates features of SharePoint Server and borrows from "Web 2.0" ideas. There are variety of programs in Microsoft Office.

Microsoft Word 2010
Word Window consist of variety components.
This include the documents window, Ribbon, Mini toolbar, shortcut menus and Quick Access Toolbar.
The ribbon consist of tabs, groups and commands.

Anatomy of Windows 7

Main elements of windows 7.
  • Aero view
  • Taskbar
  • Libraries
  • Gadgets
Aero is an interface that makes your visual interactions with desktop fun and easy.
  • Aero Peek - hovering over a taskbar icon shows the thumbnail of that program. Hovering over the thumbnail shows a preview of that program in full view. Aero Peek also refers to the "Show desktop" button to the far right of the new taskbar.
  • Aero Shake - Shaking (quickly dragging back and forth) a window minimizes all other windows. Shaking it again brings them back.
  • Aero Snap - Clicking and dragging a window to the right or left side of the desktop causes the window to fill the respective half of the screen. Snapping a window to the top of the desktop maximizes it. Resizing a window to touch the top or bottom edge of the screen maximizes the window to full height, whilst retaining its width; these windows will then slide horizontally if moved by the title bar, or can be pulled off, which returns the window to its original height.
  • Aero Flip- allows you to preview all your open windows from a central window or 3D view that you can flip through.

Taskbar
The taskbar is now more convenient to use with larger views.

  •  Jump lists allow you to right click on an icon in the taskbar and immediately access items like music, videos or web pages that you use on a regular basis.
  • Pin allows you to place programs on the taskbar and rearrange the order of the icons as you wish.
